These two little sweeties... Seriously, the things you don't think about when you just think "orphans" or "waiting children" or "adoption..." (and I am sure its part of the not having a personal connection with who is being adopted prior to know who... *she rants*) BUT these... are real, REAL kids...
I am watching my son Oliver in his crib grab at his mouth, all fussy, he is tired, he is like "tuck me in mom, hug me, get me some teething tablets", which I am more than happy to do as his mom. But I stop, in a total trance. Watching him fuss and imagining that our little boy in Congo (born in 2011), is having these same pains, they get teeth too... they have growing pains, then get junk in their ears and rashes on their bums. They get pink eye, bug bites, they get too hot, they cant sleep at night, among a slew of WAY worse problems that our kids do not have to deal with thanks to modern medicine.
Then my girls, "Mom, I need a snuggle, read to me mom, hold my hand, help me go to the potty..." our little girl in Congo is 3 (5 days older than Paige our oldest) and I am like (to tears) oh my gosh...
...Praying takes on a WHOLE NEW level when this is realized. We have a daughter and a son, they are real, little people, who are the same ages as a couple of our kids here at home and watching their development and hearing their needs and I just have to say under my breath almost hourly today "Thank you God for giving us these hearts to love your children, keep our babies and all other adoptive waiting kiddos safe safe safe, here there and everywhere."
We have been given 6 kids under age 4.and guess what... they All, cry the same. No matter where in the world they are. (soon to all be in one house, which excites me greatly.)
Maybe this entry totally depressed you, but maybe it encouraged you to move forward with something that has been growing on your heart.(aka adoption yourself or supporting adoption in general)
If you didn't understand our urgency as adoptive parents to raise money and ultimately give everything to God be it tears or praise; there is a small window to our hearts as this calling is not an easy one, but well worth it!

Psalm 68:5-6
Father to the fatherless, defender of widows-
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
God places the lonely in families;
He sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
